What to check before you order
- Primary voltage and taps. A unit built at 12470 GY/7200 with a 13200 tap covers both common systems, but only if the taps are full capacity. How taps work
- Dead front or live front. Most utilities will not accept live front on new work. The difference
- Loop or radial feed. Loop feed needs six bushings and costs more. Which you need
- Pad and clearance. At 3,000 lb this needs a proper pad and crane access. Clearance rules
- Freight. A unit this size ships on a flatbed and often needs a crane at the far end. Freight quoted separately is the single most common surprise on a transformer order.
